| 1969- Pasadena, California The national title was on the line and the game pitted No.1 Ohio St. and No.2 USC against each other in the Rose Bowl. The Buckeyes were 9-0 and the Trojans 9-0-1 going into the game. USC thought they had a clear advantage with Heisman Trophy winner O.J. Simpson, who had led the nation in rushing and all-purpose running for the second consecutive year, on their side. In the end, it mattered not as Ohio St., after spotting USC to a 10-0 lead, came back to win 27-16 to take home the National Championship.
