During the championship game the Blue Jays struck first, scoring the game's first goal after 8 minues and 38 seconds had elapsed. They would carry that momentum into halftime with a 5-2 lead over Maryland. Maryland got untracked in the second half and outscored Hopkin's 7-4, sending the game into overtime. Four-time First Team All-American Frank Urso ended the drama when he scored 1:18 into overtime to give Maryland a 10-9 lead, securing the NCAA national championship. |
