| It was the 3rd perfect season for The Clemson Tigers as they capped off an 11-0 regular season by defeating Nebraska by a score of 22-15, in the 48th Orange Bowl. Up 22-7 in the 4th quarter, Nebraska made it a game with a late Roger Craig touchdown and 2 point conversion. But Clemson's defense, led by 295 lb. freshmen middle guard, William "The Refrigerator" Perry, and All American safety, Terry Kinard, shut down Nebraska on their final drive to capture the national championship. |
