| The Nittany Lions entered the 1982 Sugar Bowl as the number 2 seed, pitted against the number 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs. PSU took the lead out of the gate and never turned back, upsetting the Dawgs by a score of 27-23. Led by Joe Paterno and his 17 year, 162 win tenure, the Lions finally got the recognition they deserved by stopping Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker and company. |
